Patricia Lizarraga, Managing Partner
Ms. Lizarraga is the managing partner of Hypatia Capital Group. She is responsible for the organization's strategy of sponsoring female CEOs, as well as originating proprietary private equity transactions. She has over 25 years of merchant banking experience, as well as is a founder of several successful companies. Ms. Lizarraga founded the Grupo del Ande in 1997 and is a founding and Investment Committee member of Sigma SAFI, an asset manager with over $400 million AUM of primarily middle-market fixed income investments. Prior to founding Hypatia Capital, she was the Managing Director of Credit Agricole Securities' New York mergers & acquisitions  group. She started her merchant banking career at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. She has also served as the President of the Privatization Committee of the Toll Roads of Peru. Ms. Lizarraga is the President of the Board of Directors of the Diller-Quaile School of Music, as well as a Trustee for the Museum of Art of Lima, Peru She also serves as an independent board member at Credicorp Ltd ( NYSE : BAP ) and Banco de Credito del Peru.  
            
 
Ms. Lizarraga received her Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Yale University and her Master of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School.
 
 
 
Alexa Willson, Senior Managing Director
Ms. Willson is a Senior Managing Director at Hypatia Capital Group.  She leads origination and execution of merchant banking transactions, both agency and principal.  She is a founder, and partner, and has advisory and transaction experience with startups, middle market companies and with Fortune 500s.  Ms. Willson founded Mille Capital, a midmarket private equity and mergers & acquisitions firm, and Juno Partners, and was a co-manager of TriCapital Ltd. a closed end investment company with over $600 million AUM of fixed income investments.  Prior to joining Hypatia Capital, Ms Willson was Managing Director, and Private Client Advisor of U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management and prior to that was with Bessemer Trust.   She started her merchant banking career at Drexel Burnham.    She has also served as the Vice Chair of Avalence LLC, a clean tech company.  Ms. Willson has held various board positions with non-profits, including serving as treasurer of a foundation, member of an audit committee,  as well as co-chair of alumni class fundraising.
 
Ms. Willson received her Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Harvard University and her Master of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
 
Margaret Mager, Senior Advisor
Ms. Mager is a Senior Advisor at Hypatia Capital working directly with Hypatia clients.  Previously, she was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs in Global Investment Research from 1995 until 2007.  In this role she led a team of 19 research professionals covering more than 90 stocks across all sectors of retail.  Ms. Mager was named an All Star Analyst for nine consecutive years (1999-2007) by Institutional Investor, and recognized as a top analyst in surveys by Greenwich Associates, Reuters, Starmine, and The Wall Street Journal.  Her corporate and investor clients valued her industry knowledge and strategic perspective. While at Goldman Sachs, Ms. Mager assessed mergers and divestitures for strategic and financial soundness and worked on numerous primary and secondary transactions, including IPO's of Polo Ralph Lauren, Columbia Sportswear, Carter's Childrenswear, Coach, UnderArmour, Maidenform, J. Crew, and Lululemon.

Upon leaving Goldman Sachs she became a senior advisor to the CEO of Liz Claiborne as it restructured a portfolio of 41 branded businesses. She then joined Kekst & Company as a strategic and financial communications consultant.  Earlier in her career, Ms. Mager held various investment and research positions focused on the consumer sector at General American Investors, Smith Barney, Harris Upham, Inc, and Morgan Stanley.  She began her career at Macy's, Inc. in FP&A.
 
Irina Anguelova, Managing Director

Ms. Anguelova is a Managing Director at Hypatia Capital. She is focused on the consumer, business outsourcing and financial technology sectors and leads Hypatia Capital's Financial Technology group. Prior to  joining Hypatia Capital, Ms. Anguelova spent 12 years as an investment banker, most  recently as a Director in the Financial Institutions group at Merrill Lynch focusing on the FinTech sector. Prior to Merrill Lynch, Irina was at Citigroup, covering the FinTech and Technology sectors. She began her career in 1997 as an analyst in the Financial Institutions Group of Salomon Brothers. Ms. Anguelova has completed over 40 transactions with total deal value of over $25 billion.

 
Ms. Anguelova graduated Magna cum Laude from Mount Holyoke College in 1997, majoring in Mathematics, Economics and Asian Studies. Irina is an avid sailor and skier. Irina is fluent in English, Bulgarian and Russian and has a working knowledge of French, Spanish, and Japanese.
 
 
 
Tatyana Chupina, Director
Ms. Chupina leads the retail and apparel sector covreage at Hypatia Capital. Prior to Hypatia Capital, she worked as a management consultant at A.T. Kearney. Ms. Chupina has also worked in the corporate sector as an executive at Calvin Klein and J. Crew.

Jennifer Clarke, General Counsel
Ms. Clarke is Hypatia’s general counsel. Ms. Clarke has over 15 years of experience, both as general counsel for investment banks, including Rodman & Renshaw, and at major law firms, including Skadden Arps, Schulte Roth & Zabel and Fried Frank.  She has experience in M&A transactions, both domestic and cross-border, and capital transactions ranging from private equity and private placements to IPO’s, PIPE’s and secondary offerings, for both U.S. companies and foreign issuers accessing U.S. capital markets, through direct investments and ADR offerings.  Ms. Clarke has represented issuers, placement agents and investors.  She holds her JD from the Boston University School of Law, and BA in Mathematics and French Literature from Wellesley College.
 
 
 
John Grenawalt, Associate

Susana De la Puente
Ms. De la Puente was Vice Chairman at J.P. Morgan until January 2007, responsible for J.P. Morgan’s senior clients in the Latin American region. Currently, Ms. De la Puente is an advisor of several companies, including The Rohatyn Group, a New York based asset management firm focused on emerging markets.

Ms. De la Puente has received a series of recognitions for her achievements: Euromoney named her “One of the Top Women in Finance”; Global Finance Magazine named her “one of the 20 Most Powerful Women in Global Finance”; and America Economia named her “Top 10 Most Powerful Women in Latin America”.
Dawn Riley

Dawn Riley is one of the best-known sailors in the world as well as a much sought after speaker, motivational leader and high-performance coach.

 

As CEO and Captain of America True, Dawn Riley was the first woman to manage an America's Cup sailing team. She is also the first American, man or woman to have raced on three America's Cup teams and two Whitbread Round-the-World Race (now Volvo Ocean Race) sailing teams. She has also been the general manager of the French Team, Areva Challenge, her fourth America’s Cup challenge. She is the former President of the Woman’s Sports Foundation, founded by Billie Jean King and is active in many public service and political activities.  Dawn serves as a board member of US SAILING, the national governing body of sailing, the SCS Democratic Club, and is an advisor to many other organizations.
