Nancy Shalek - CEO LoveSac

Nancy Shalek is Chief Executive Officer and President of LoveSac, a Mistral Private Equity portfolio company.  Nancy joined LoveSac in February 2008.  She began at AMF Voit and Carnation in marketing, then started, built and sold a $50MM advertising agency in Los Angeles. Later Nancy ran the West Coast operations for WB Doner, the largest independent advertising firm in the world. She was both a regional and national Advertising Woman of the Year.  Nancy developed and ran a media Joint Venture among NBC and several other Fortune 500 companies.  She has created or took over and restructured companies in retailing, education and technology.  In partnership with Stop and Shop Supermarkets, she developed a store-within-a-store entertainment product business, BestSellers!, now a $100+MM business.  

Nancy graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Literature and received her MBA in Marketing and Finance from University of Southern California
Kim Taylor - Kirkland & Ellis
Kim Taylor concentrates her transactional practice in the private equity and mergers and acquisitions area. Kim serves as lead counsel to large buyout funds and private and public companies in a wide variety of transactions including leveraged buyouts, mergers, stock and asset acquisitions, recapitalizations, and minority investments. In 2009, Kim was featured in The Deal Magazine as one of eight "smart, young and talented" movers and shakers in private equity.

Kim graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a B.A., and received her JD cum laude from University of California at Hastings, College of the Law.
Mercedes Tech
Ms. Tech is responsible for identifying proprietary investment opportunities as well as negotiating and structuring Hypatia Capital investments.  Prior to joining the Hypatia Capital Group, Ms. Tech was a managing director of Societe General's Capital Markets Group and a member of its Capital Markets Executive Committee.

Ms. Tech has also previously held senior positions in Citigroup's and Chase Securities' Capital Markets, Restructuring, and Investment Banking Groups.

Ms. Tech received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Laura Weil - CEO Ashley Stewart
Laura Weil was named CEO of Urban Brands, Inc. in August 2009. Urban Brands is the parent company of Ashley Stewart, a specialty retailer of fashion apparel and accessories for urban women aged 25-45 operating 214 stores in 26 states. Ms. Weil was brought in as a consultant in 2008 to help turn the company around for its principle owner, a private equity firm based in New York.
Prior to joining Urban Brands, Ms. Weil served as Chief Operating Officer of Ann Taylor Corporation, where she was responsible for all finance and accounting functions, global sourcing, information technology, merchandise planning and allocation, real estate and store construction.
Prior to joining Ann Taylor, Ms. Weil was the EVP and CFO of American Eagle Outfitters, Inc., where she was a key leader in the company’s rapid growth in sales from 200 million in 1995 to over 2 billion in 2005. In addition to overseeing all of the financial, investor relations, merchandise planning/allocation, IT and strategic planning functions, Ms. Weil served a critical role in the development and growth of ae.com, as well as in the overall development of the American Eagle brand, its extension into Aerie and the start up of Martin+Osa. She also was a founding member and chairperson of the American Eagle Foundation.
Before joining American Eagle, Laura held senior executive positions at CIBC Oppenheimer, R.H. Macy & Co., and Lehman Brothers.
Laura holds a B.A. degree in Art History and Government from Smith College and an M.B. A. degree in Finance and Marketing from Columbia University. She currently serves on the board of directors of Carnival Corporation, the world’s largest cruise operator. In New York, she is on the board of Girls Prep, which operates two charter schools in Manhattan and the Bronx.
